Madame Bovary

Emma has married Charles Bovary, a doctor, and the married couple live in a small village in Normandy. But the young woman is bored. She cannot stand the monotony of her life or the mediocrity of her husband. She dreams of a cultured life in Paris, so the husband and wife move to a larger city in Normandy. But Emma is still bored, and eventually abandons herself to the throes of passion.

Dans un village de Normandie, Emma a épousé Charles Bovary, un médecin. Mais la jeune femme s’ennuie. Elle ne supporte ni la platitude de sa vie, ni la médiocrité de son mari. Elle rêve d’une vie mondaine à Paris. Le couple déménage dans un gros bourg normand. Elle y retrouve l’ennui. Alors, elle va s’abandonner dans des passions exaltées.
