In the year 1984, the people of Oceania cannot do, say or think what they want. They must love Big Brother, the Party leader, and follow him. ‘Everything’s great in Oceania,’ the Party says, but Winston questions his life. George Orwell’s masterpiece of dystopian science-fiction warns us of the dangers of totalitarian governments.

En 1984 les habitants d’Oceania ne peuvent ni faire, ni dire ni même penser ce qu’ils veulent. Ils doivent adorer Big Brother, le leader du Parti, et le suivre. « Tout est grandiose à Oceania », affirme le Parti, mais Winston a de gros doutes sur la vie qu’il mène. Ce chef-d’œuvre de science-fiction dystopique d’Orwell nous met en garde vis-à-vis des risques des totalitarismes.
